How To Feel Alive Again…
Hello Curious Reader,
How ya doin‘? Does life seem rough to you? How do you feel right now? Do you appreciate those small moments? Do you feel truly happy? Do you live your life?
~ I know that for every person the answers are different. But if you already clicked on this post I assume that you might be struggling with something right now or you just clicked on it out of pure curiosity which is great;) But yeah this post is a little guide for the people who can’t seem to find the joy of living and feeling alive again. I want you to find true happiness again or at least figure out a way to do so.
You are enough, that’s something you need to know for all your life. The knowledge that you are unstoppable but still human is important for letting me guide you through this little journey of feeling alive. Accept your downfalls and make the best out of it. You’re human, a living creature who is constantly growing from their own failures. You’re strong and I believe in you. Don’t bring yourself down because of other people’s opinions that can’t see the best in you. You can and if this is not the case right now you will learn to. You can do this…
Are you now a little inspired to let me be your guide? Yes? Okay but before we dive right in let me know how you are feeling. Let all your feelings or that you have kept inside you for a long time. I’m there for you. And now take a deep breath… Are you ready?
Now let’s get started…
Why I wanted to write this post:
Lately I’ve been feeling really down. I had a lot of exams before the Christmas break and that put a lot of pressure on me. And that’s what brought me to this topic today.
I felt like all this knowledge are useless for my future and won’t bring me anything. I kind of lost my reason for going through all this. And then someone in the same grade as me wanted to end his life by jumping out of the school building. I was shocked and realized what school is making with most of us. Maybe the boy who I went in the same class with in fifth and sixth grade but had no real connection with had other reasons for ending his life. (He didn’t end his life) But I feel like school can put a lot of pressure on us as students. We constantly get told by our teachers that we are weak, not smart enough and probably won’t make it far. It’s hard and it took me long to understand that those teachers want us to really be studying like it’s the most important thing in our life’s. They want to put us down to teach us to get back up again. But they shouldn’t be doing it by constantly making us feel like failures.
School is for many people a place, sometimes a happy or a horrible one, maybe a feeling or a memory, sometimes bright or dark. In school you learn to fight yourself through those difficult times to later be making what you want in life. And that’s when I realized my reason for putting myself in this uncomfortable position day by day. It’s all for my future. My future is something that only lies in my hand, so I want to be the one who carries me across every mountain. But most times school makes us feel failure a dozen of times that it makes us wish to disappear for a while. That’s why I wanted to make this post after all of these exams for feeling alive again;)
What’s the difference?
Being alive and feeling alive may sound to some people the same but there are some important differences you have to know before finding your true happiness in life again.
So here we go…
Being alive is just breathing air …in and out, in and out…an act that just keeps us in a living state. But still, being alive is more than just breathing. It is living our daily lives, working, driving, playing, conversing, eating, sleeping, exercising, meditating, connecting, teaching, learning, growing, and the like. According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of being alive is: Having life; living; not dead or inanimate, Continuing to exist, Not yet defeated.
I believe that feeling alive is not just about existing. It’s more than being content. More than even being happy. I view it as possessing a genuine state of “awakedness”, if you will. A reason to be excited to get up in the morning. Living life to its fullest. Something that pushes you to create. Motivates you from the inside out. Gives you earth-shattering passion. An unbridled sense of urgency.
How to feel alive?
Now we’ve already come to the most important part of this part. Knowing what feeling alive is and not just existing, will give you the passion Goethe next steps. Remember feeling alive is in the little things.
So here we go…
#1 Watch the sun rise. You can’t argue with this one. Wake up a bit early and remind yourself how refreshing this experience can be.
#2 Scare yourself. Are you deathly afraid of spiders? Go touch one. Pick a fear and go check and see if it still freaks you out.
#3 Scream at the top of your lungs. Like in all of those cliche movies where they yell in the rain on top of some mountain… except do in right where you are, right now.
#4 Do something spontaneous. It doesn’t have to be crazy or dangerous, just fine. Stepping outside your normal schedule and throwing responsibility to the wind feels great.
#5 Practice an act of random kindness. Giving feels really good. Sometimes we forget exactly how good.
#6 Get to know a stranger. Truly connect with another human being. Skip the small talk and ask about their goals and ambitions.
#7 Get Mad! Anger is a gift. If something is getting you down, express your frustration about it! Just getting your feeling out can feel amazing.
