Leni is happy and loves her life. But suddenly something changes in it, suddenly the lightest is the heaviest in the world. How to get up from bed. There are days that are okay, but there are also bad days when Leni can’t get up because she gets panicked or scared.

Leni doesn’t know how to deal with it, because she doesn’t understand it herself and wonders if she should tell someone. But how?

Finally, Leni goes to the doctor with her mother, because she knows that things are not going to go on like this. Most doctors think she has exam anxiety and stress. But Leni is not satisfied with this. When she goes to a more distant doctor, it becomes clear that she has panic attacks, anxiety disorder and depression. Her parents take her to a clinic, where she learn how to deal with it.

In the clinic she meets Anna who also has depression, only in a different way. And Phillip who is anorexic and gay. He was often told at school that being gay is a disease and at some point he believed it. (That makes me angry!) Leni finally meets Matti during one of his escape attempts to escape from the clinic. Four of them plan to escape, but a few change. Leni wants to leave with Matti and he helps her to fight her illness.

This book is so good! I love this story. Before that, I thought depression would develop if you didn’t want to live anymore because you lost a person. But now I know that was crap, because it’s so much more. Leni got exam anxiety and through it all it became more. Panic attacks and anxiety disorders occurred. I thought if you don’t have pain, you’re a superhero. But that’s not true because you can kill yourself without noticing it. That is horrible!

Ava Reed is a brilliant writer. I hope she continues to write such fantastic books!
